This is the second article in the series on Net Neutrality: H.R. 3458 – A dangerous experiment in Internet regulation. Representative Ed Markey has proposed some heavy handed Net Neutrality rules in H.R. 3458 that would outlaw several existing business models. The FCC may also be considering a subset of H.R. 3458 rules where the FCC would determine which managed services should be permitted on broadband and wireless networks, but it is unclear what the final rules will look like until they’re published.

Segment 1: Do it Yourself Investing Cramer explained that people who stayed in index funds during the entire bear market and current rally are still not back to even yet, while people who got out of the market when Cramer recommended selling last year and then got back in when he called a bottom at Dow 6500 are up big. He showed that this is proof that people can manage their own money, and individual investors are continuing to show their intelligence by taking profits now that the market is up significantly from its lows, but reminded everyone that there are great opportunities like the mobile internet tsunami and homeland security plays.

Well well well. I’m having a great morning so far. Look at the title and tell me the money gouged customer in your isn’t all giddy. It’s inevitable that Apple would eventually release an iPhone on someone else’s network other than AT&T. However, the speed at which it’s going to hit as well as with the sheer amount of secrecy and lack of early hype that AT&T enjoyed is kind of shocking.

Vodafone and RIM introduce the BlackBerry Storm2 Smartphone Vodafone and Research in Motion( RIM) have officially announced the BlackBerry Storm2, a touchscreen smartphone device. The BlackBerry Storm2 is a thinner and sleeker device with new technology and new features to let customers stay easily connected. Customers in the UK will be able to get the new smartphone first through Vodafone. It is also expected to be offered in Ireland, followed by Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy and South Africa in November or December.

If you are a daily reader of our sister blog, Loopy Cellphones then you might have read about the Vodafone 360 Service and the Samsung H1 . Well if not the Vodafone 360 is a new mobile internet service which was announced by the UK carrier recently and the Samsung H1 will be one of the first phone available from Vodafone to carry the service. The Samsung H1 has a 3.5 inch OLED display along with 3G, GPRS Connectivity, HSDPA, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for connectivity options.

GO has announced that it is the first communications provider in Malta to deploy high speed mobile internet and data of up to 7.2Mbps. This is based on GO’s superior 3.5G/ HSDPA nationwide infrastructure which is going to allow mobile users to benefit from double speeds compared to the current maximum 3.6Mbps speeds. Meanwhile, GO is also doubling the speed of its 2Mbps ADSL internet users to 4Mbps, at no extra cost.

All week long on his “Mad Money” TV show, Jim Cramer has been focusing on a huge trend that he doesn’t see going away anytime soon. 3GVision has launched its i-nigma 1D/2D Barcode app for the iPhone, which includes an easy to use point-and-scan feature enabling users to get instant access to information behind the barcode with zero clicks. Most of us have been disappointed because of the lack of the radio in our Apple mobile devices. This problem seems to have come to a solution. Some sources were gossiping today that Apple is ready to unlock FM radio in certain types of iPhone and iPod Touch. The new software will probably have the same features as the iPod Nano, with little difference. For example, you could buy songs directly from iTunes, using your mobile Internet connection, instead of having to do a computer sync.

We knew it was coming, but bright and early this morning Vodafone UK and RIM announced the upcoming release of the BlackBerry Storm2. Vodafone will be releasing the Storm 9520 which will include a number of improvements over the current 9500. The new Storm2 features a upgraded Surepress touch display, Wi-Fi, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, and 2GB of on board memory. The new Storm2 also features the new OS 5.0 which offers some hot new features.

A survey commissioned by GSMA on the penetration of mobile broadband within organisations based in Europe, Asia Pacific and the US has revealed its growing popularity. The study collected data from about 1000 companies of different sizes across these continents. Analysis of the data indicated a clear trend towards mobile connectivity emerging among organisations lately.
