AOL acquired Third Screen Media , a mobile advertising company, in 2007 for $80 million. Vodafone has announced its latest plan to try and hang on to customers, which centres on a cloud-hosted address book . Vodafone 360 involves a web portal where users can see their address book, connected to the usual social networking services, and a custom client which will be pre-installed on variant handsets as well as central to a couple of new Vodafone-branded phones manufactured by Samsung. That portal will be replicated with an on-device client from Vodafone, which can be installed in Vodafone stores and will come pre-loaded on variant handsets.

Vodafone have announced their latest mobile networking and app platform, Vodafone 360 , bringing Facebook, Windows Live and Google contacts sync, software downloads and mobile content to the carrier’s cellphones.  While Vodafone 360 will support numerous Nokia and Sony Ericsson devices, the carrier is also launching two new Samsung devices which will be 360 branded: the Samsung H1 , with a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen, and the Samsung M1 , with a 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen.
