The company is already in talks with massive US operator Airtel about introducing its specialised search engine expertise into Airtel handsets. Now it appears they are looking to go one step further, and release a Google-Orange handset, but will they be able to crack the market? While it will take a very brave person to back against the might of Google, they are entering a market which is cut throat, very fashion conscious and is dictated by fickle consumers.

Wait, haven’t we heard that before? WiMax has been promised “any day now” for years, but WiMax vendors such as Clearwire Communications LLC have suffered numerous delays in rolling out services. A recent ramp-up in Clearwire deployments bodes well for WiMax, but it may not have the chance to fully get off the ground before a competing technology called Long-Term Evolution (LTE) does it in. Craig Mathias, principal analyst at Farpoint Group and a Computerworld columnist, sees WiMax taking a minority stake in the wireless broadband future.

This is my 33rd autumn and it still comes as a surprise when the cold wind hits. We really are like goldfish in a large seasonal bowl. # Listening to Muse’s new album. Intro to ‘Uprising’ sounds like old Doctor Who theme tune. # Why does iTunes always set the first track to repeat when you create a new playlist from selected files? Thought it sounded familiar. # New Muse album is excellent. Much better than their last IMO. The symphony/overture tracks are amazing.

I got my Android phone a few days ago; a HTC Hero from my regular tele provider: Telenor. They called me the day after I ordered it and said that I could pick it up the very next day.The first thing I did, was to upgrade the firmware. To do that I had to be connected to a PC through the sync software. That is unfortunately a Windows application? Fortunately a have a dual boot pc at my job with Windows (paid and) installed, so I could upgrade the firmware.I think it’s a very nice phone and its very easy to change settings and so on and so forth.
