by Nigel Evans To many small-business owners in Orlando, Internet marketing is an entirely misunderstood concept or a phrase that returns a blank stare. Amazingly, the vast majority of small business owners do not grasp the importance of an online presence, nor do they understand that a fully optimized and active website can benefit the business no matter what niche they are in. If you go for a walk today through your local strip mall in central Florida you will count maybe 20 or 30 small-business operations of all kinds.

American Library Association Wants Network Neutrality - wo.ala.org 08/11/2009 By Carrie Lowe , August 10, 2009 At last month’s American Library Association annual conference in Chicago, I served on a Sunday morning panel presentation on the topic of Network Neutrality. On that day, there was no Network Neutrality legislation in Congress (like there is today, thanks to Reps. Markey and Eshoo). There was no flashy evening news piece on the topic, no rock stars on the Hill advocating for a free and open Internet.

Despite tough economic times the world over, the processor market grew by 10.1 percent in the second quarter of this year, driven in large part by continued demand for Intel’s Atom processor. That being the case, one would think we’d see more Atom-based mobile Internet devices (MIDs) or ultramobile PCs (UMPCs) show up in the market place, so why aren’t we? That’s the question news site Arstechnica set out to answer, and what they discovered was pretty interesting.

3G promised us the mobile Internet but, as ever, the hype got ahead of reality. To be fair, by the time that 3G was finally agreed upon and rolled out, the speeds it offered seemed rather pedestrian, and most industry watchers are now waiting on a 4G world for a truly global, mobile Internet with access speeds capable of supporting the kinds of applications and services that the iPhone is letting us glimpse. And that might happen faster than we think.

The data indicating a sharp increase in the number of users of mobile broadband in Sweden has led experts to believe that fixed-line internet might be slowly replaced by mobile broadband. Sweden is one of the countries having the largest number of mobile broadband connections due to comparatively similar prices of mobile broadband and fixed-line networks in the country. A newly published study of the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency shows that mobile broadband users in Sweden have multiplied, as is evident from the trend of four times increase in data traffic in Sweden every year.
08/11/2009
In the wake of explosive growth in usage of mobile broadband across the country, there are chances that it will replace fixed line broadband in Sweden. The possibility is also supported by a report of Swedish Post and Telecom Agency, which states that the total traffic of data on Swedish networks increases by almost four times over the last one year. Sweden is listed among the topmost countries in terms of mobile broadband usage, and one of the reasons for this is the competitive prices offered by mobile broadband providers.

Mobile broadband is in widespread use in Sweden, where it has become a part of life for people, with usage constantly increasing throughout the country. The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency recently published a report, which suggests that data transfer on mobile broadband network in the country has quadrupled over the last one year. The growth is quite promising, as data consumption doubled in 2008. As a result, data consumption on fixed-line broadband and mobile broadband is almost on the same level.
08/11/2009
Mobile broadband is very likely to substitute fixed line internet in Sweden as users have increased their data usage by almost 100% in 2008, strongly suggesting the possibility of a strong growth for at least a few more years. The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency came up with a report recently, which points out that data traffic on the mobile broadband network in Sweden increased by as much as four times last year, showing the huge growth in the use of the services.
08/11/2009
Broadband users in Sweden have doubled their mobile broadband usage during 2008, reaching almost the same level as fixed-line broadband usage. A senior partner at Rewheel, a telecoms consultancy in Helsinki, said that mobile broadband has proved that it is ready to overtake the fixed broadband industry. Sweden has turned into one of the foremost nations to accept mobile broadband wholeheartedly.

Recently many people have argued that mobile broadband has reached a stage in Sweden where it can replace fixed line broadband. Reports of the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency state that the traffic of data in the country’s mobile broadband network has grown four times. Further data consumption by mobile broadband subscribers has also grown to almost double last year making many believe that this replacement is possible. Sweden is considered as one of the topmost countries in usage of mobile broadband.
08/11/2009
Sweden features among one of the top countries in mobile broadband usage, especially because of highly competitive prices offered by mobile broadband companies as compared to fixed lines. The increasing share of mobile broadband usage in the market strongly indicates a complete replacement of fixed lines by mobile broadband in the near future. It has been suggested that the monthly consumption of data on mobile broadband has doubled last year.

Basically, as concerns iPod, iTunes, switching off apps it doesn’t like or who it thinks are a competitive threat, Calcanis thinks that Apple is acting like a monopolist and should probably be investigated by the DoJ. His most telling points come in the comparison between the current behaviour of Apple and the ex-great monopolist Microsoft: On iTunes: Think for a moment about what your reaction would be if Microsoft made the Zune the only MP3 player compatible with Windows.
