Here’s hoping all of you had a great weekend! What better way to start off the new work week than by finding an excellent netbook deal. As we get closer to the back to the school season, I fully expect to see many retailers offering great deals for netbook systems – if anything to clear out existing inventory. With that said, here’s a couple of interesting deals for today. —- Buy.com Buy.com is selling the ASUS Eee PC 900A netbook for a mere $179.99 along with free shipping.

Judging by the name of the company, at one point radios were the big thing to buy at Radio Shack. Today radios aren’t exactly high-end tech. Consumers today lean more towards computers and mobile phones. In an apparent attempt to get with the times, Radio Shack will be rebranding itself as The Shack reports Engadget. This makes sense when you consider that Radio Shack is more into phones with the recent addition of T-Mobile than it is anything else.

Wednesday was a difficult day for our same day courier and delivery business . It started off very well, two contracts were due to start and we were prepping our drivers with the new requirements. Two of our biggest ad hoc / express delivery customers were booking in jobs and we had all four of the fleet out, on the road. At midday just before the new contracts were about to start our daughter collapsed, in a heap on the floor. We were stunned, she had been a bit quiet but no other indication that she was unwell.

Over the last two years, there have been several stories to hit the mainstream media talking about people who’ve gone a trip abroad, used their iPhone and gotten home to the shock of a $10,000 phone bill. While the iPhone is a revolution for travelers – due to the unfair pricing practices of AT&T, iPhone users must be careful on how they use their iPhone while traveling.

by Ronald Smithson No one can overstate the importance of online technology in todays complex and modern world. A lot of people of any age, interest or preference; stay online almost 24/7. In fact, most people check their electronic mails first thing in the morning before going about getting ready for the day ahead. Because of this, a lot more ISPs are coming up with ways to better serve their clients. With most transactions ” whether for work or personal ” now needing online applications, everyone is increasingly becoming more dependent on internet solutions.

I have said it before, but not really spelled it out in detail but I think the proliferation of cellphones as the primary method of connectivity in Africa is not, as many have proposed, a cheap and practical solution to bridging the digital divide, on the contrary, it’s a very good way to make the rift permanent. The essential reason is simple, cellphones will never be able to compete with full size devices in terms of capability. Cellular internet remains almost entirely a one-way thing.

Greed, Greed, And More Greed - jasonsummers.org 08/03/2009 The past few days I’ve been thinking a lot about greed. How does it originate? Why are people greedy? What drives a man to greed? I talk about a lot of things people won’t even want to believe, but I didn’t step around certain issues just because they’re almost unbelievable.

I just posted about the ‘unlimited’ tariff deal with Tesco, so I thought it only fair to give Virgins deal a mention too! Virgin Media have launched a £65/month (!) tariff that includes unlimited calls, text, and mobile internet usage. It’s an 18-month contract however, but it does include a Nokia ( NYSE: NOK ) N86, Samsung Jet, or some other appropriate devices also. Now I don’t know about you, but this is a lot of cash - partly because they are bundling a handset, but partly I think also because they are punting unlimited data - which some people going for this offer would use heavily.
